CALL FOR PROOFREADERS

Would you like to gain some experience in academic proofreading? The graduate journal Diffractions is looking for editorial support by MA or BA students in applied foreign languages, translation or similar degrees who are interested in academic proofreading. We are offering internships where you can gain experience in formal academic proofreading and an insight into the editorial work of an academic (graduate) journal. You will support the editors of the journal at the final stage of the publication process by checking manuscripts for consistency in usage, layout and formatting (particularly references). Your contribution will be mentioned in the journal and on its website, where you will be included as part of a group of proofreaders. You can also request a certificate of recognition, attesting to the work you have conducted.

Diffractions is an online, peer-reviewed, and open access graduate journal for the study of culture. The journal is published bi-annually under the editorial direction of graduate students in the doctoral programme in Culture Studies of the Lisbon Consortium, at Universidade Católica Portuguesa. It is a platform where graduate students and other young researchers can showcase their current research as well as review the latest books of interest in the field.

If you are interested in joining our team as a proofreader, please send your CV and a short description of relevant experience and interests to info.diffractions@gmail.com. We are looking forward to hearing from you!
