Summary: the project aims to reduce academic failure and dropout at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) - Lisboa, Braga, Porto and Viseu - through six initiatives:

(A) the creation of a computer system that uses indicators to predict the risk of students dropping out and failing, facilitating data analysis and the identification of factors that contribute to dropping out;

(B) creation of an online portal "Sou Estudante UCP" [I am a UCP’ student] with simplified information about the institution, its structure and operation. The portal will also serve as a platform for forums and webinars for students and teachers;

(C) improving and consolidating the Peer Mentoring programs at UCP, with the aim of facilitating the integration of new students into the academic context and promoting their personal and academic success;

(D) reinforcing the Teacher Tutoring programs at the UCP, fostering greater academic support and inclusion, particularly for students in vulnerable situations;

(E) promoting the integral development of UCP students by sharing aesthetic and cultural experiences (e.g. film screenings, art exhibitions and literary discussions, followed by debate);

(F) creation of relative merit scholarships for students who make the most progress, regardless of their starting point. The aim is to encourage continuous improvement and achievement. The awarding of scholarships will take into account the student's socio-economic background, prioritizing those who may be at risk of dropping out due to difficulties of this nature.
