She holds a PhD in German Language and Literature from the Portuguese Catholic University and is currently a member of the Faculty Board and Coordinator of the BA Program in Applied Foreign Languages. Between 2007 and 2009 she was visiting researcher at the Center for Semiotics of Aarhus University and at the Department of Cognitive Science at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. Since 2016 she is a member of the Scientific Board for German Studies of DAAD - Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst.
