Leading social intervention and influencing public policies
Contemporary social transformations require professionals who can understand complex phenomena, promote rights, influence public policy, and develop evidence-based responses to social challenges.
The Social Work, Citizenship, and Public Policies pathway offers advanced training that strengthens the scientific and professional identity of Social Work by connecting research, specialized intervention, and public policy analysis.
Throughout the degree, students develop skills to:
- Design, implement, and assess social programs and projects.
- Critically analyze public policies and social protection systems.
- Conduct applied research in Social Work.
- Lead intervention processes with individuals, families, groups, and communities.
- Promote participation, citizenship, and the protection of human rights.
The syllabus features a sequential series of Research Seminars that support every stage of the dissertation, project, or internship. This structure ensures continuous methodological support and a strong connection between research and professional practice.
Simultaneously, the Specialized Intervention Seminars allow students to dive deeper into fields such as childhood and youth, ageing, health, justice, local development, intercultural mediation, social support, and the assessment of social policies and projects. This setup allows for progressive specialization, preparing professionals to meet emerging challenges stemming from social policy and intervention across various institutional and community settings.
