With a background in both languages and political science, Matthew holds a BA (Hons) in French and Italian from Manchester Metropolitan University and a MA in International Relations from the University of Kent in Brussels. Currently pursuing a PhD in Culture Studies at the Lisbon Consortium, Matthew also lectures in English at the Faculty of Human Sciences. His doctoral research revolves around the work and theory of the Situationist International (SI), the cinema of Jean-Luc Godard and the political implications of postmodernism. He has an additional interest in the broader areas of cultural and intellectual history, philosophy and film studies.
