Jane Duarte

Assistant Professor

Bio

Phd in Modern Languages and Literature, with a specialization in Language and Culture. She has taught English and Translation in the Social and Cultural Communication and Applied Foreign Languages undergraduate programs at FCH since 2013 and is also responsible for the Translation of Economic Texts Workshop in the Translation Master’s Program and English for Nursing at the Escola de Enfermagem at UCP. She is a researcher at CECC, the Centre of Communication and Cultural Studies where she has worked and published articles on digital literacies and multimodality within the scope of Translation Studies. Her additional interests include the didactics of online language teaching/learning. Alongside over 20 years of experience in higher education, she has undertaken work as a translator and proofreader of technical and scientific texts. She is the author of "The Portuguese Adventure into Wonderland A Relevance-Theoretic Approach to Translation".
