Currently Full Professor of Psychology at Mid Sweden University, Östersund, Sweden, and Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Human Sciences at UCP. He holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Uppsala University, Sweden. He has been teacher and researcher at Uppsala University and Karolinska Institute in Sweden, and at Universidade Lusófona and ISCTE/IUL in Portugal. He was the director of The Centre for Research and Social Intervention at ISCTE-IUL, and coordinator of Master program in emotion psychology. He is currently the coordinator of the Master program in emotion psychology at Mid Sweden University. His main research interests have been the study of the relationship between cognitive and emotional components of human information processing, in particular, how our emotions influence our attention. Several dozens of scientific peer-reviewed articles have been the outcome of this research.
