With the objective of consolidating the teaching staff on the Undergraduate Program in Social and Cultural Communications Studies and the Master’s Degree in Communications Studies, as well as boosting the research ongoing in the field of journalism, the FCH is inviting applications for the position of Guest Assistant Professor in Journalism Studies. The candidate selected is to lecture two or three curricular subjects and also holds responsibility for the production of the pedagogical materials provided to students. The contract is on a part-time basis (83%), for a period of five months beginning in February 2018 with the scope for renewal on a full time basis for the 2018/19 academic year.
Application requirements:
- Hold a doctoral degree in Communications Studies, preferably specialising in the study of journalism or the media;
- Have a track record of scientific production on journalism or media companies;
- Hold excellent written and oral communications skills in both Portuguese and English.
The existence of past lecturing experience and/or working in the field of journalism shall be taken into consideration by the jury when evaluating candidates but does not represent a pre-requisite.
