The Change of Institution/Course Pair is the act by which a student enrols and/or registers in an institution/course pair other than the one(s) in which, in previous academic years, they were enrolled (Ordinance no. 181-D/2015 of 19 June).
The request for a change of institution/course pair is available to students who:
- Have been enrolled and registered in another institution/course pair in previous academic years and have not completed it, in Portugal or abroad;
- Have taken the Portuguese secondary school exams corresponding to the entrance exams set by the Faculty of Human Sciences for the year in which they are requesting a Change of Institution/Course Pair (these exams may have been taken in any previous academic year) or equivalent exams;
- Have obtained, in these exams, the minimum mark set by Universidade Católica Portuguesa for that year.
- Are not under the International Student Status, nor have they been attending a degree to which they were admitted under the Over 23 regime.

Credits/Equivalences
Admitted candidates can request the granting of equivalences and respective ECTS credits, corresponding to the curricular units in which they have successfully completed in other higher education courses.
The ECTS credits provided for in the curriculum plan of the Faculty of Human Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University are recognised for the subjects to which equivalence is granted.
Application Process
Step 1 – Start your online application via the e-SCA platform
Applicants for a change of course within the FCH-Católica must submit their request for a change of course, within the deadlines stipulated above, on the e-SCA platform under Services > Enrolment Request - Change of Course within UCP.
They only need to submit a request addressed to the Faculty Director requesting the change of course, since the necessary documentation will be submitted by the Academic Services, which already have the student's file.
This request will be submitted to the Dean of the Faculty of Human Sciences.
Step 2 – Payment of application fee
After filling in the application, you should regularly check the e-SCA platform under Academic Register > Treasury Situation to see if you already have the application fee pending.
You must pay the application fee (8.00€* - non-refundable) within the deadlines stipulated above. Please note that the application will only be considered complete once the fee has been paid.

Step 3 – Application Results
The results will be announced by e-mail on the scheduled date.
Once the results have been announced, and if admitted, you will receive an e-mail with the procedure to follow to enrol.
