The XIV Lisbon Summer School for the Study of Culture will focus on the topic of "Culture at War", which surpasses the concept of war in stricto sensu to embrace its cultural significances as well, namely expressed by the spirit of contention in citizens' daily lives, by the spread of social and cultural movements which foment injustices and violate basic laws and rights, and by a global trend of criticism, divides and dissent towards mainstream ideologies and states of the art.
