The Association of Women Ambassadors (AWA), in partnership with Universidade Católica Portuguesa, is organising the conference ‘Truth in the Age of Disinformation’ on March 24, at 2 pm, in room 511 (CLSBE building) in Lisbon. This event will bring together a diverse group of experts from various nationalities to explore the intersections between disinformation, political polarisation and the specific challenges faced by vulnerable communities.
Isabel Capeloa Gil, President of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, and Élise Racicot, Ambassador of Canada to Portugal, will be opening the ceremony, while the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, will give the closing speech.
The aim of this event is to promote dialogue, identify common ground and develop innovative strategies to effectively tackle these issues, while preserving freedom of expression and freedom of the press as fundamental principles in a democratic society.
