President of the Board of Transparency International Portugal, she was President of the Board of FORGES (Forum for Higher Education Management in Portuguese-Speaking Countries and Regions) from 2020 to 2025. She served as Minister of Education and Science in the 20th Government of the Portuguese Republic (2015) and as a Member of Parliament in the 13th Legislature (2015–2019). She held executive positions at the University of Coimbra (Vice-Rector, Pro-Rector, and Administrator) and in the banking sector. She has taught in the fields of Economics (economic policies) and Management (strategic management, institutional evaluation, and quality management). She is a specialist in Change Management and Governance Models in Education. A founding member of international university networks (RAUI, HUMANE, and FORGES), she is the author of several publications in the field of Higher Education, particularly on Governance and Strategic Management, and has participated in various international projects and panels as an expert in the education sector.
