Bio

Ana Mineiro holds a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Lisbon and a post-doc in Neurolinguistics and Applied Linguistics to Sign Languages. She has an Habilitation in Language and Cognition. She is Associate Professor with Habilitation at the Catholic University of Portugal (UCP) where she is a senior researcher and also principal investigator on several scientific and developmental projects, bringing together numerous scientific publications which highlights, in recent years, an emphasis on research in sign language with a neurolinguistic and linguistic perspective. She directs the Language and Sign Language and Deafness Lab at CIIS and  has coordinated the Bachelor and Master in Portuguese Sign Language and Deaf Education and several Post Graduation courses on Deafness and Sign Language. Actually she coordinates the PhD in Cognition and Language Sciences at Catholic University of Lisbon. She supervised several PhDs, Post-docs and Master Thesis and participated in numerous national and international evaluation committees (A3ES, IAVE) and numerous PhD evaluation committees . She has been visiting Professor in International Universities. Actually she is member of the Catholic University Health Sciences Ethical Committee. She is polyglot, precocious bilingual and is also an elementary signer.
