On Tuesday, October 7, between 5:00 pm and 6:30 pm, in the Exhibition Room, the opening session of the seminar ‘Art and Diplomacy – Setting the Framework’ will take place with Professor Randi Charno Levine, Honorary Professor of Art and Diplomacy.

In this opening session, the significance of cultural diplomacy will be discussed through a series of initiatives that took place during her ambassadorship, such as the exhibition ‘Celebrating Diversity – Democracy and Representation in the Arts‘ at the Ambassador's residence as part of the ’Art in Embassies‘ program, as well as ’Hip Hop Diplomacy‘ with Portuguese rapper Sam the Kid, ’Culinary Diplomacy‘ with American chef Art Smith, and ’L'USAfonia," a musical event celebrating Black History Month in Portugal.

This seminar consists of seven sessions with international guest speakers: the opening session, the second session in October, and five sessions in March 2026. It is open to all master's and PhD students in Culture Studies, as well as the entire FCH community.
