The Lisbon Summer School for the Study of Culture is back for its 16th edition, taking place from June 29 to July 3.
With the theme “Disobedience”, the Summer School is organized in collaboration between The Lisbon Consortium – a network between the Master's and PhD programs in Culture Studies at the FCH-Católica and leading cultural institutions in Lisbon – and Escola das Artes (UCP Porto). This year, sessions will take place at the Lisbon campus of Universidade Católica Portuguesa and cultural institutions in Lisbon, such as Culturgest, Centro Cultural de Belém, and Cinemateca Portuguesa, bringing together leading scholars in the field of the arts and culture as well as doctoral students and young researchers from all around the world.
The program includes different types of sessions: keynote lectures by invited speakers and faculty members, master classes and workshops with invited specialists, paper presentations where doctoral students and early career researchers can discuss their ongoing work with faculty and invited speakers, poster presentations by Master's students, and a cultural program.
Ana Longoni (University of Buenos Aires), Ângela Ferreira (Artist), Ato Quayson (Stanford University), Marco Scotini (Curator), Markus Messling (CURE, Saarland University), Sumathi Ramaswamy (Duke), and Tânia Ganito (University of Lisbon) will be the keynote speakers for this edition.
