CECC is proud to announce the first edition of the Post-Doc Lounge.
Finishing a PhD is a hard achievement and a challenge like no other. After years of intense research and mastering multiple challenges at a professional and personal level, you are now ready to further develop your academic career and grow as an academic. And yet, after the PhD, you find yourself facing several new hardships, often without a clear trajectory to follow.
The first session of CECC’s Post Doc Lounge aims to tackle possible challenges and opportunities of early career researchers in the first ten years after concluding the PhD. The event provides the opportunity to share experiences and insights into questions related to postdoctoral career development and explicitly invites all researchers who concluded their PhD within the last ten years to join the discussion.
What are possible paths after having successfully defend your PhD? What is expected from a postdoctoral researcher? What are important selection criteria for positions following the first postdoctoral position? What possible career opportunities exist in the humanities in Portugal? In this first session we will address these and other related questions in a round table discussion.
