On Tuesday, June 23, at 11:30 a.m., in Sala Brasil, another session of the Late Afternoon Talks will take place, this time featuring Professor Frank Stern, a renowned scholar in Cinema Studies. In this session, untitled “Streaming through Generations: Noirish Colors Forever,” Stern will focus on streaming culture.
To make the most out of this session, we would advise taking a look at the series Spider Noir (available on Amazon Prime), although this is a recommendation rather than a requirement.
Frank Stern’s research focuses on German-Language and International Jewish Cinema, Film Exile and Film Noir. Stern has taught at Universities in Israel, United States, Germany, and Austria. In 2012-2013 he was Visiting Professor at the Lisbon Consortium. He is President of the Jewish Film Club Vienna, published a book on the films of Hedy Lamarr and recently a biographical novel Die Suche der Töchter (The Daughter’s Quest. The Times of Kronheim).
