Objectives:
- Get the students familiar with the specific language of social sciences
- Initiate the students in the different steps of the scientific procedure;
- Lead the students to develop a critical and reflective mind over communication, from a scientific perspective
- Formulate a research problem in the field of communication, undertaking an epistemological rupture with the obstacles to the scientific knowledge.
- Understand the importance of theory in the construction of the scientific object, namely the role of concepts and hypotheses in constructing conceptual frameworks and theoretical models.
- Develop skills to collect information using different sources and bibliographic research, evaluating the sources credibility, and become familiar with the proper quotation procedures.
- Define the most adequate methodological approach to the object of study under construction. To know how to choose, build and apply the tools of data and analysis.
