Research in Communication

Objectives:
 
  • Get the students familiar with the specific language of social sciences
  • Initiate the students in the different steps of the scientific procedure;
  • Lead the students to develop a critical and reflective mind over communication, from a scientific perspective
Competences:
 
  • Formulate a research problem in the field of communication, undertaking an epistemological rupture with the obstacles to the scientific knowledge.
  • Understand the importance of theory in the construction of the scientific object, namely the role of concepts and hypotheses in constructing conceptual frameworks and theoretical models.
  • Develop skills to collect information using different sources and bibliographic research, evaluating the sources credibility, and become familiar with the proper quotation procedures.
  • Define the most adequate methodological approach to the object of study under construction. To know how to choose, build and apply the tools of data and analysis.
