Graduated in History from the Faculty of Letters, University of Lisbon, he has a Master's Degree in Communication, Cinema and Television and is now a doctoral student of Communication Sciences at the Catholic University of Portugal. Since 2007, he has been working as Content Director for SP Televisão. He's also a researcher at the Research Centre for Communication and Culture Studies (CECC), and vice-coordinator of the Portuguese Ibero-American Observatory of Television Fiction (OBITEL) team. He writes for both cinema and television, having written over twenty titles, including short films and feature films, mini-series, series and soap operas. In 2011, he won the Special Prize with the series "Naked City" at the International Festival of Detective Films and Television Programs, in Moscow, and the International Emmy Award in the soap opera category with "Blood Ties", in New York. In 2013, he was nominated for the Sophia Awards, awarded by the Portuguese Academy of Cinema, in the category of Best Original Screenplay, for "So So". In 2016, he won the Gold Medal at the New York World's Best TV and Films Festival for "Heart of Gold".
