Associate Professor with aggregation
She graduated in History from the Faculty of Letters, the University of Lisbon, a scientific collaborator at the Research Centre on the History of the European Expansion, University of Bamberg (Germany), where she was awarded her Doctoral Degree in Modern History in 1992. She was a lecturer and coordinator of history at the Faculty of Letters, the Catholic University of Portugal (1996-2006) and is currently an Associate Professor with aggregation at the FCH-UCP, in Lisbon. Her research has focused on intercultural processes in the Early Modern times, on the history of European knowledge exchanges and on visual culture in the 16th and 17th centuries. She has been awarded distinguished international fellowships and was Senior Fellow at the Herzog August Library in Wolfenbüttel, Germany from 2014 to 2016.
