The Institute of Family Sciences (ICF) of the Faculty of Human Sciences organizes the 1st edition of the International Congress "Experiences and challenges of families".
Taking place on September 29 and 30, in the Pe. Bacelar e Oliveira Auditorium (Auditorium 1, Faculty of Human Sciences Building), the event is aimed at all those who are interested in understanding the Family, either as researchers or because they work in the service of families (psychologists, social workers, jurists, teachers, other technicians from institutions that develop activities in related areas).
Without losing sight of its academic institutional framework, this event is associated with the celebrations of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in the "Amoris Laetitia" Family Year (Pope Francis, 2016), intending to contribute to reaffirming not "the ideal" of the family, but its rich and complex reality. It is our goal that the knowledge shared, and the reflections generated may cooperate to define an Agenda to support the Family and its development, to be publicly disseminated.
The 2-day programme will be on-site and will include an Opening Table, 3 Conferences, 1 Symposium, 3 panels with experts and moderators from different fields of knowledge, as well as a poster exhibition. All sessions include time for debate, which is intended to be enriched with the collaboration of participants, the sharing of ideas and concerns, and the exchange of experiences. We will also have the launch of an international book on the experiences and challenges of families from all over the world.
