Portuguese Literature

Portuguese Literature is a theoretical and practical subject that is part of the “complementary training” group of subjects in the B.A. of Applied Foreign Languages. It fulfills a general educational purpose, providing a cultural framework for the education of future professionals in the fields of business relations and translation, which are the two specializations of this degree. As an elective subject for other FCH degree courses, it also fulfills a general educational and cultural framework function.

The subject seeks to foster critical reading and text interpretation skills, promoting interdisciplinary relations and historical, social, political, literary, and cultural contextualization, stimulating the development of argumentative and expression skills, especially in writing.
