Developmental Psychology

6 ECTS / Semester / Portuguese
Objectives:
- Describe and compare the main theoretical approaches in Developmental Psychology;
- Identify and understand the key changes in socioemotional development, with special focus on important transitions from childhood to adulthood;
- Critically analyze relevant topics and challenges in Developmental Psychology, using different theoretical perspectives and up-to-date scientific evidence;
- Reflect on the role that family, school, and community contexts play in promoting human development, based on scientific, ethical, and inclusive principles.

Competences:
- Build bridges between theory and practice, applying acquired knowledge to understand real and concrete situations of human development at different life stages;
- Reflect on and propose ways to promote healthy, positive, and inclusive development, recognizing the diversity of human experiences and the transformative role of Psychology in real-life contexts.
