Comparative Politics

6 ECTS / Semester / Portuguese, English

A comparative introduction to various political and economic systems; their respective political institutions, cultures and patterns of behaviour and how these link to distinctive types of political economy. Using the comparative method, students examine the question: “what is a ‘good society’ and how can we measure this concept?”. Examples from the various types of democratic and authoritarian systems are studied.
