Communication and Musical Industry

6 ECTS / Semester / Portuguese, English

The main objectives of the course unit are to enable students to:

i) Get to know the value chain of the contemporary music sector;
ii) Develop critical thinking about the process of music commodification;
iii) Identify the role of music in the audiovisual and digital industries;
iv) To problematise music as an instrument of political and commercial propaganda;
v) Build strategic communication plans applied to the different sectors of the music industry.
