Students shall acquire knowledge about the underlying processes of human cognition, understood as a system for information processing.
The study of the different cognitive functions includes understanding the relationship between theoretical models and their empirical support, which is accomplished via the presentation and discussion of the main results and methods used currently in cognitive science.
To prepare students to apply the acquired knowledge to the understanding of behaviour and other outputs of information processing taking place in the human brain, to everyday situations, providing a wide range of examples to discuss.
