To become familiar with the object(s) of the discipline;
To become familiar with conceptual and methodological tools in the area of translation history, which will enable students to frame, understand and analyse the phenomenon of translation;

To become acquainted with different translation traditions;
To become familiar with the state of research in the history of translation in Portugal;
