CECC researcher Manuel Carvalho Coutinho published a new book, A Biblioteca: uma segunda casa, with the support of Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos.
The book launch is taking place on April 18th, 2024, at El Corte Inglés, in Lisbon (Sala Âmbito Cultural, 6th floor), by 6.30 pm. The session will feature a roundtable with the author, who, together with Célia Lopes (Biblioteca Municipal de Figueiró dos Vinhos) and Zélia Parreira (Biblioteca Pública de Évora), will discuss how the Portuguese public libraries are organized, which are their distinctive characters, how they relate with/ prepare to the common citizen, who visits public libraries and with which purposes, among other topics.
