He graduated in Philosophy from the UCP – the Catholic University of Portugal (Lisbon), with the final classification of 16.13/20. IN 1996, he obtained his Master's Degree in Philosophy from the UCP with the classification of Summa cum Laude before receiving his Doctoral Degree in Philosophy from the same institution with the classification of Magna cum Laude. He has had several dozen scientific works published in the following fields: Ontology, Ethics, Portuguese Thought, Epistemology, Philosophy of Religion, Ancient Philosophy and Political Philosophy, including nine books. Secretary of FCH-UCP from 1992 to 1998, he was Coordinator of the Scientific Area of Philosophy at FCH-UCP from 2103 to 2015. A research and board member of CEFi - the Centre of Philosophy - UCP.
