At the end of the semester students should be able to:

• Reflect on the importance of Portuguese as a language of opportunities in the world in a global era;
• Understand the specificities of the teaching-learning process of a second language for specific purposes;
• Use the Portuguese language for specific purposes in a diversity of fields (tourism/hospitality, health, trade, international relations, among others);
• Reflect on the challenges faced by the teacher of Portuguese as a second language for specific purposes;
• Delineate diverse teaching methodologies to be used in classes of Portuguese for specific purposes.
