Spiritual Ecology Seminar

12 ECTS / Annual / Portuguese

The Seminar on Ecological Spirituality’s main objectives are to question the relationship between human beings, non-human beings, and the environment; discuss the interrelationship between culture and environment; and perceive new ways of inhabiting this common space.

The Seminar seeks to investigate the cultural roots of the contemporary environmental crisis, to understand how the environmental crisis can constitute or generate a spiritual crisis, and vice versa, how spirituality can positively contribute to overcoming the aforementioned environmental crisis.

This curricular unit seeks to provide students with the tools necessary to diagnose a problem (analytical skills), interpret reality (hermeneutic skills), and seek answers in a creative way (skills for developing innovative solutions), namely dialoguing with the field of the arts as a place for the critical expression of contemporary environmental challenges.
