The aim is to provide analytical tools for understanding organisational dynamics and processes of social change, including the role of institutions and public policies in contemporary transformations.
Learning objectives:
1. Acquisition of knowledge about concepts and statements in the social sciences, also from the point of view of the configuration of the disciplinary field;
2. Construction of a critical sociological reflection on social reality, culture, socialisation, conditions of social change, the role of institutions, social mobility, inequalities, poverty and social exclusion, and the process of globalisation;
3. Acquisition of knowledge about the works of classical authors and the work developed by contemporary schools of Sociology. The teaching method promotes a combination of theoretical and conceptual discussion on the one hand, and analysis and debate of texts on the main issues addressed on the other.
