The course provides a general overview of the Social Doctrine of the Church: its history, its principles and main documents.
The curricular unit assumes an existential approach to religion, underlining the universal needs of humanity: truth, justice, beauty, happiness, love. We call this aspect, which is common to all humankind, religious sense and it is related with the eternal question about the meaning and purpose of human life.
We intend to show how the answer to this question influences the way we inhabit the world, from an ethical, economic and political point of view.
