Philosophy of Religion

6 ECTS / Semester / Portuguese
The aim is to initiate the Students in the relation with the specific problematic of religion, as well as the philosophical reflection that endeavours to think such a problematic. It is required that at the end of the semester each Student be able to create a brief essay in which to demonstrate critically what he/she has learned.
The Students must understand the essence of religious experience, in its own semantics – strong sense – and in its irreducible reality: religious experience cannot be reduced to any other form of reality. They must also dominate the main points of the philosophical reflection on the religious issues. They must manifest an autonomous capacity for reflecting on religion and to present that in written form, as a personal synthesis.
