French Language IV

3 ECTS / Semester / French
Objectives:
  1. Develop students’ communication skills - both oral and written - using a variety of texts and videos and activities like simulations and role plays in order to reach CEFR level B1.1 in French;
  2. Raise students' awareness regarding cultural and social realities and observing intercultural differences or similarities;
  3. Prepare students for work: job interviews, meetings, correspondence, telephone;
  4. Familiarize students with French daily press: review and critique articles, compare French and Portuguese press.

Competences:
Students of French IV should be independent users of French at level B1.1. Therefore, according to the Common European Framework of References for Languages, they must be able to:
  1. Understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.
  2. Deal with most situations likely to arise while travelling in an area where the language is spoken;
