Digitalization and Social Intervention

6 ECTS / Semester / Portuguese
This course aims to develop competences to understand, analyse and integrate digital technologies into social intervention processes, organisational practices and innovation models in the social sector. Students learn to critically interpret the impact of technologies on people’s lives, organisational management and public policies, promoting ethical, responsible and participatory use of digital tools. The unit strengthens applied digital literacy within Social Work and develops practical skills.

Competences:
- Explain key concepts of digital transformation, network society and social technology;
- Analyse the impact of digital technologies on social intervention contexts;
- Use basic digital tools for diagnosis, communication, participation and evaluation;
- Identify risks, ethical dilemmas and data protection challenges;
- Integrate digital tools into social intervention proposals;
- Critically assess the opportunities and limits of digitalisation in Social Work.
