Doutorada em Estudos de Cultura pela Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) e pela Justus Liebig Universität Giessen (duplo grau) em 2013. Atualmente é Professora Auxiliar na FCH-UCP, Diretora Académica do Lisbon Consortium e Coordenadora do Mestrado em Estudos de Cultura. É também investigadora no Centro de Estudos de Comunicação e Cultura (CECC), onde integra o grupo de investigação “Culture, Art and Conflict”. Foi Coordenadora Executiva do Lisbon Consortium (2016-2017) e também Coeditora da revista online "Diffractions - Graduate Journal for the Study of Culture" (2013-2017). As suas principais áreas de investigação são estudos de cultura, cultura visual, cultura americana e literatura, conflito e violência, ambiente e catástrofes. É autora de 9/11: Culture, Catastrophe and the Critique of Singularity (de Gruyter, 2016).
