Objectives:
- Get the students familiar with the specific language of social sciences;
- Initiate the students in the different steps of the scientific procedure;
- Lead the students to develop a critical and reflective mind over social service, from a scientific perspective.
Competences:
- Formulate a research problem in the field of social service, undertaking an epistemological rupture with the obstacles to scientific knowledge;
- Understand the importance of theory in the construction of the scientific object, namely the role of concepts and hypotheses in constructing conceptual frameworks and theoretical models;
- Develop skills to collect information using different sources;
- Define the most adequate methodological approach to the object of study under construction;
- To know how to choose, build and apply the tools of data collection and analysis, according to the goals of the investigation, the scientific method;
- Know how to elaborate and how to write a final research report.
