Objectives:
  • To explore the concepts of Publics, Audiences and Fans from the perspective of communication theories within the scope of Legacy Media,
  • Digital Media and Cultural and Creative Industries.
  • To discuss the evolution of the studies of Publics and Audiences in the field of Social Sciences, engaging theoretical assumptions and research methodologies.
  • To analyse contemporary Publics, Audiences and Fans with quantitative and qualitative methods.
Skills:
  • Conceptualize Publics, Audiences and Fans in a comparative and critical perspective.
  • Understand the evolution of theories and case-studies and their consequences for the Media, Cultural Industries and Public Space.
  • Research and apply the methods and tools to measure audiences.
  • To develop criticism about media expressions, practices and uses.
  • To expand knowledge about Publics and Audiences and their applicability in the Media and the Culture Industry.
