The Faculty of Human Sciences of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (FCH-Católica) has signed a new collaboration protocol with the Centro Cultural de Belém (CCB), strengthening the network of partner institutions that make up The Lisbon Consortium, an internationally recognised program in the field of Culture Studies.
The partnership foresees the joint development of academic and cultural initiatives, including seminars, applied projects, internships, and research opportunities.
Ranked as the 2nd best program in the world in Cultural Management/Creative Industries Management, the Master’s Program in Culture Studies at FCH-Católica is part of The Lisbon Consortium, standing out for its interdisciplinary approach and international environment, with more than 70% of students coming from abroad.
For the Rector of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa and Director of The Lisbon Consortium, Professor Isabel Capeloa Gil, “this is a truly distinctive program, one that combines critical reflection on cultural practices with a management component, without being confined to it. The collaboration with CCB will allow us to co-create seminars, develop joint projects and engage our largely international student body in experiences that connect the University with the city’s cultural sector. This partnership strengthens the unique and globally recognised character of The Lisbon Consortium.”
Nuno Vassallo e Silva, Chair of the Board of Directors of CCB, highlights the strategic importance of this partnership for the institution: “This collaboration comes at a particularly significant moment for CCB, as we reinforce our mission through research and professional training. Joining The Lisbon Consortium will help us enhance our documentary archive and expand new opportunities for internships, study, and academic development.”
The Lisbon Consortium is a cooperation network that brings together FCH-Católica and some of Lisbon’s leading cultural institutions, such as the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Culturgest, the Museum of Theatre and Dance, Lisbon City Council, and the Portuguese Cinematheque, among others. CCB’s entry further strengthens the collaborative and international dimension of this unique programme in Portugal.
