This Christmas, FCH Solidária – O Outro em Nós is partnering with Casa de Proteção e Amparo de Santo António (IPSS) and calling on the academic community to come together in a charitable cause that seeks to “break the cycle” of unprotected motherhood and help young mothers build new lives.
Under the motto ‘Building a future for a better life’, this solidarity campaign aims to raise monetary donations that will contribute to the continuity of the work carried out by Casa de Proteção e Amparo de Santo António, a religious institution founded in 1931 by Prof. Doutor D. Pedro da Cunha. The institution carries out its mission through three fundamental areas: the Casa das Mães (home for children and young people), the Casa das Crianças (nursery) and the Casa dos Sabores, a commercial activity in the restaurant sector that ensures the sustainability of the social response.
The donations collected are intended to meet immediate needs, namely repair work, the purchase of food and hygiene products, which are essential to ensure decent conditions for the mothers and children supported.
