Inês Rocha, a third-year student on the Undergraduate Degree in Applied Foreign Languages, took part in the Erasmus+ BIP (Blended Intensive Programme) ‘AI Meets Language’ at Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania, in September. “It was an enriching experience,” says Inês, “representing the Universidade Católica Portuguesa and Portugal allowed me to explore in a practical and collaborative way the role of artificial intelligence in language learning and teaching, in an interdisciplinary environment with students and teachers from different European universities.”
This BIP brought together students and educators from diverse backgrounds to explore the dynamic intersection of AI, language learning and intercultural communication. Participants engaged with tools and methodologies, and discussed on how AI is reshaping the way we understand, teach and use languages in a multilingual world.
“We celebrated European Language Day, which promoted contact with different languages in a creative and innovative way. This Transform4Europe programme was an incredible and unforgettable opportunity that gave me new knowledge and experiences,” recalls Inês.
Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programs (BIP) are short, intensive programs that use innovative ways of learning and teaching. By enabling new and more flexible mobility formats that combine physical mobility with a virtual part, blended intensive programmes aim at reaching all types of students from all backgrounds, study fields and cycles.
