This curricular unit intends to provide students with the following: To identify and to analyse the impacts of globalization at the national and local levels; To identify the reconfigurations of state actions and strategies in order to manage social change; To relate the work place dimension with the reconfigurations of labour ethics and the priorities in the social policies field; To analyse the logics and mechanisms of globalised interventions in the social domain and focusing on the place and role of supranational organizations and the European Union context; To articulate the emergence of the risk society and new forms of governance with changes in social policies.
