This course aims at providing students with the theoretical apparatus to digital culture as a field of study. This course provides a comprehensive overview of digital culture, exploring its historical development, theoretical underpinnings, and contemporary manifestations.
We will examine how digital technologies shape our social, cultural, and political lives, and how we, in turn, shape these technologies.
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Define key concepts in digital culture, such as virtual community, online identity, and digital divide;
- Analyze the historical and social context of digital culture;
- Critically evaluate the impact of digital technologies on society, culture, and politics;
