A study carried out by Hays, to which the Portuguese weekly newspaper Expresso has had access, places the sector of communication and marketing in the Top 10 of the best paid in Portugal for those with up to 5 years of career. A Communications Director can earn around €74,000 a year, and a Marketing Director can earn around €65,000 a year, placing these two positions at number 6 and 8 of the highest paid, respectively.
The Faculty of Human Sciences offers an Undergraduate Degree in Communication and Cultural Sciences, where students can choose one of the four specializations on offer (one of them in Communication, Marketing and Public Relations). This degree has an employability rate of 96%, according to the Directorate-General for Education and Science Statistics.
The Master's Degree in Communication Studies, also at FCH-Católica, which offers 5 specializations (two of them with a Double Degree in partnership with LUMSA Università) was considered by Eduniversal in 2024 to be the best Master's in Portugal, and was also ranked 16th in Europe in the “Corporate Communication” category, ahead of recognized European universities. The specialization in Communication, Marketing and Advertising stands out in the “Marketing” category, making it into the ranking of the Best Master's Degrees in the World for the sixth year running.
Francisco Bruto da Costa, currently the Director of Communication at Bauer Media, and Paula Perfeito, current Head of Media, Partnerships and Communications at SAPO, are both former students of the Undergraduate Degree in Communication and Cultural Sciences and the Master's Degree in Communication Studies. These are just two examples of how the Faculty of Human Sciences is able to prepare its students for the future, offering them a wide range of competencies and developing skills that enhance their integration into the job market.
