Two students from the Master's degree in Culture Studies, Mirian Vanda and Vera Fanizza, created the CineMar film club with the aim of bringing people together to watch and discuss films, in a world that is becoming increasingly individualized when it comes to viewing cinematographic content.

Each semester, this film club has a cycle organized by monthly themes, and there will be two film screenings per month. The first took place on October 29th, when the film “Ar Condicionado” (2020) by Fradique, was shown. “Ar Condicionado” is Generation 80's first feature film and was presented at the Rotterdam International Film Festival. It was also awarded Best Film in the Science New Wave category at the Imagine Science Film Festival and Best Fiction Feature Film at the Innsbruck International Film Festival.

The film is presented through the lens of security guard Matacedo and explores the narratives of the city of Luanda, where air conditioners are mysteriously falling off the walls.

Follow the CineMar film club on Instagram (@cinemar.lxc) and keep up to date with all the screenings.
