Research Methods in Psychology and Health

6 ECTS / Semester / Portuguese

The main goal of this course is to provide students with knowledge of research methodologies and quantitative and qualitative data analysis, helping them to select and adequately apply research methods to research questions on Health and Clinical Psychology. At the end of this course, students should be able to:

a) know and select appropriate research methods for different research questions;
b) calculate the necessary sample size to have statistical power;
c) correctly select and apply different statistical techniques to hypothesis testing;
d) correctly select methods and procedures of qualitative analysis;
e) identify and apply criteria that defines quality of research.
