This curricular unit aims at a consolidation of the oral and written communicative skills in Portuguese at the B2 level defined in the CEFRL. Learners attaining this level of language proficiency should be able to:

• understand the main contents of complex texts about concrete and abstract topics and to follow oral presentations and debates about different issues;
• express themselves fluently, so that a conversation with a Portuguese native speaker does not result in difficulty on either part;
• discuss a vast range of topics, adopting their own viewpoint and arguing for it, while also defining the positive and negative aspects of alternative perspectives over the same topics;
• produce texts of different kinds to address different communication contexts, and to apply knowledge acquired in class, as well as their command of textual organizational patterns.
