This course was developed in order to introduce students to the basic concepts of economic science, motivating them to the importance of economic reasoning in different contexts. Its main purpose is to contribute to develop their ability to understand and interpret reality, using the basic tools of economics.
The course addresses a wide range of topics, including issues that are more theoretical as well as others more applied. This approach allows students who are start their studies in the area of Social Work to broaden horizons and acquire a deeper awareness of an area that, not being the "core" of their training, will play a key role in their understanding and assessment of reality, and of the behavior and decisions of individuals.
