Getting your research published is one of the most important aspects of your life as an academic. It is an opportunity to showcase your work and to test its impact. Publication is often the outcome of several months – or years – of work, involving not only extensive research but also substantial writing and revisions. Additionally, publishing can be challenging and discouraging, with rejection letters being part of academic life.

The fifth session of CECC’s Early Career Researcher’s Lounge (post-doc lounge) will focus on the many steps that lead to the publication of research. Our researchers Rita Bueno Maia and Jessica Roberts will discuss academic publishing in the Humanities, addressing tips and strategies for journal submissions and the selection of book editors, as well as the sensitive topic of receiving and dealing with peer reviews.
